Gold Rate in Bengaluru Today

Live gold prices for Bengaluru and Karnataka, updated every business day.

Today's gold rate in Bengaluru for 24 karat, 22 karat, 18 karat and 14 karat gold is shown in the live table below, updated every business day against MCX and IBJA benchmarks. Every figure is a bullion reference rate for the metal alone and excludes making charges, GST and local jeweller premiums.

Bengaluru's gold trade still runs on a plan laid out in the 16th century, with Nagarathpete and Raja Market holding the gold, silver and gem quarter alongside Chickpet, Avenue Road and Balepet. Around that sits one of India's most modern jewellery markets, where lighter 18 karat daily wear and certified lab grown diamonds sell as strongly as traditional temple work. This page covers how the rate is set, what moves it day to day, purity and hallmark verification, making charges with a worked bill example, where to buy and sell across the city, the Karnataka buying calendar including Ashada masa, savings schemes, taxation, and a 47 question FAQ.

Key markets in Mysore include the Devaraja Market area, Sayyaji Rao Road and Ashoka Road. Frequently Asked Questions — Gold Rate in Bengaluru

What is the 22K gold rate in Bengaluru today?

The 22 karat gold rate in Bengaluru today is shown per gram and per 10 grams in the live rate table at the top of this page, refreshed every business day against MCX and IBJA benchmarks. It is a bullion reference rate and excludes making charges and GST.

What is the 24K gold rate in Bengaluru today?

Today's 24 karat rate for Bengaluru appears in the live table above. At 99.9 percent purity, 24 karat gold is used for coins and bars rather than jewellery, because it is too soft to hold its shape in daily wear.

What is one pavan of gold in grams?

One pavan equals 8 grams. It is the traditional south Indian unit and remains in everyday use across Karnataka, particularly for bridal buying, where sets are still discussed in pavans rather than grams. The tola, used more in north and west India, is 10 grams in modern trade. Always convert to the same unit before comparing two quotes.

Why is my jewellery bill higher than the gold rate shown?

The published rate covers gold value only. A jewellery bill adds making charges, which in Bengaluru run from around 8 percent to 25 percent and higher on handcrafted temple work, GST at 3 percent, and a hallmarking fee per piece. Expect a final bill roughly 15 to 20 percent above bullion value at standard making charges.

Does the gold rate shown include GST?

No. The rates on this page are pre tax bullion reference rates. GST at 3 percent is applied at billing, in most retail invoices on the combined value of gold and making charges.

What are making charges and are they negotiable?

Making charges cover the cost of turning metal into a finished piece, billed either as a percentage of gold value or a fixed amount per gram. In Bengaluru they typically range from around 8 percent for machine made chains to 25 percent or more for handcrafted temple and antique finish work. They are the most negotiable line on any jewellery invoice.

How do I verify that gold is genuinely hallmarked?

Look for three marks on the piece: the BIS logo, a purity grade of 916, 750 or 585, and a six character HUID. Enter the HUID in the BIS CARE app to confirm the registered jeweller and certified purity. On a multi piece bridal set, check every item, because each carries its own HUID.

Is gold cheaper in Bengaluru than in other Indian cities?

Not meaningfully. Bengaluru sits inland with no port of its own, so metal arrives by air cargo and through nominated banks, which adds a small consistent cost. The gap against other major cities is usually a hundred to a few hundred rupees per 10 grams, far smaller than the variation in making charges between two jewellers on the same street.

Are gold rates the same across Karnataka?

Rates in Mysore, Mangalore, Hubli and other Karnataka cities track Bengaluru closely, because the whole state prices off the same national benchmark and broadly the same wholesale trade. Small differences arise from individual jeweller premiums and local transport, but they are marginal.

Should I buy 22K or 18K gold jewellery?

Buy 22 karat for plain gold and traditional pieces where gold content is the point, such as haaram, kasu malai, chains and bangles. Buy 18 karat or 14 karat for diamond and gemstone jewellery, where the alloy must be hard enough to hold stones securely through daily wear.

Where is the main gold market in Bengaluru?

Nagarathpete and Raja Market form the traditional gold, silver and gem quarter, with Chickpet, Avenue Road and Balepet adjacent. Commercial Street and Shivajinagar carry branded showrooms, while Jayanagar 4th Block, JP Nagar, Malleshwaram and Rajajinagar serve their own neighbourhoods. Take the Metro to Chickpete station, since parking in the pete quarter is effectively impossible.

Where can I sell gold in Bengaluru and get a fair price?

Get the pieces assayed at a BIS recognised centre first so you negotiate from a measured purity, then take quotes from more than one buyer. Options include the original jeweller if buyback terms were published, organised buyback chains which have a dense presence across the city, and bullion dealers around Chickpet and Nagarathpete. If you intend to buy new jewellery anyway, exchange almost always beats an outright sale.

What is Ashada masa and does it affect gold buying in Bengaluru?

Ashada masa falls roughly from mid July to mid August and is traditionally avoided across Karnataka for weddings, housewarmings and other auspicious beginnings. Gold showrooms are noticeably quiet through it. For a buyer without a fixed date this is the best window of the year: artisan capacity is free, service is attentive, dealer premiums narrow and jewellers are far more willing to negotiate making charges on a commission.

Are lab grown diamonds real diamonds?

Yes. Lab grown diamonds are chemically, physically and optically identical to mined diamonds and are graded on the same scale by the same laboratories. They are not simulants such as cubic zirconia or moissanite, which are entirely different materials. The distinction should be stated explicitly on both the certificate and the invoice. Lucira's lab grown diamonds carry IGI or SGL certification.

Does Lucira have a store in Bengaluru?

No. Lucira does not currently operate a store in Bengaluru or anywhere in Karnataka. Our experience centres are in Mumbai at Borivali and Chembur, in Pune on Jangali Maharaj Road, and in Delhi NCR at Lajpat Nagar, Paschim Vihar and Noida Sector 18.
